EXT. QUAD - GOTHAM UNIVERSITY - DAY
TITLE CARD: Four Hours Earlier.
TITLE CARD: GOTHAM UNIVERSITY.
A WIDE SHOT of the Gotham University Campus. Open Quad surrounded by several school buildings.
A small car flies across the campus crashing into a building with a VIOLENT EXPLOSION.
An engorged CLAYFACE, swelled up to ten times his normal size, roughly the size of small building, rampages across the main Quad.
Students run in panic, avoiding Clayface’s stomping feet.

EXPLOSIVE arrows hit the stomach of the monstrosity causing him to stumble backwards slightly.
CLAYFACE
You think that can stop me? Nothing
can stop me! NOTHING CAN STOP CLAYFACE!
Clayface plunges his enormous fist into the ground with a CRASH!
ARTEMIS leaps out of the way and rolls on the ground, pulling a trio of arrows from her quiver.
EXT. QUAD - GOTHAM UNIVERSITY - DAY
TITLE CARD: Four Hours Earlier.
TITLE CARD: GOTHAM UNIVERSITY.

EXPLOSIVE arrows hit the stomach of the monstrosity causing him to stumble backwards slightly.
CLAYFACE
You think that can stop me? Nothing
can stop me! NOTHING CAN STOP CLAYFACE!
Clayface plunges his enormous fist into the ground with a CRASH!
ARTEMIS leaps out of the way and rolls on the ground, pulling a trio of arrows from her quiver.
She rights herself and pulls back on her bow, ready to shoot
a volley at Clayface.
ARTEMIS
Hey Robin, this is one of your
regulars. Any tips?
Artemis lets go of her arrows and they go WHIZZING through the air.
The arrows EXPLODE against Clayface, registering no reaction from the giant monster.
Robin swoops down from a building, letting go of his batline and landing close to Artemis.
ROBIN
Ice, electricity, various solvents,
those usually do the trick.
Robin tosses a cluster of blue gelcaps at Clayface.
The mud that makes up Clayface’s body freeze where the gel- caps hit him.
Clayface struggles to move as the ice has made him momentarily immobilized. He shakes his body and the frozen bits break up and the ice falls off of him.
CLAYFACE
Ha! That tickled!
Clayface continues his march of carnage on the campus. He fires a barrage of balls and spikes of clay at Robin that are almost as big as the boy wonder.
Robin somersaults out of the way of the clay, which SPLATTER against the ground. The spikes PENETRATE the soft earth of the quad, uprooting the ground around them and CRASHING trees to the ground.
Robin acrobatically dodges out of the way of the upturned earth and falling trees.
When the clay finishes tearing up the ground it SLITHERS back to rejoin with Clayface.
Robin looks back at Clayface, not sure of his next move.
ROBIN
Though I’m not used to him being so
big. I’m used to him being a mud puddle not a mud pile.
ARTEMIS

roof tops at several water towers and then looks at Clayface.
His eyes narrow as if formulating a plan.
AQUALAD
Then we shall need bigger ice. Kid Flash?
Kid Flash ZOOMS up to Aqualad, stopping in front of him.
KID FLASH
Ready.
AQUALAD
Distract Clayface. Keep his attention
away from us.
Kid Flash gives Aqualad a playful salute and runs off. A small cloud dust is left in front of Aqualad where Kid Flash used to be.
Kid Flash runs in front of Clayface and waves his arm at the giant.
Distract Clayface. Keep his attention

KID FLASH
Hey ugly!
Clayface turns away from the rest of the team and focuses on Kid Flash.
CLAYFACE
Huh?
Huh?
KID FLASH
You know for a shapeshifter you think
you’d try to look more fit.
Clayface brings down a massive fist to crush Kid Flash. Kid Flash dodges out of the way at the last second.
KID FLASH (CONT’D)
Not quite.
Clayface brings down his other fist but again Kid Flash dodges quickly out of the way.
CLAYFACE
Stupid speedster.
Aqualad watches as Kid Flash keeps Clayface occupied and then looks over his shoulder.

Aqualad watches as Kid Flash keeps Clayface occupied and then looks over his shoulder.
he points at the water towers
MISS MARTIAN and SUPERBOY are and removing building debris.
As Aqualad gives his commands he is looking at.
AQUALAD
Superboy! Miss Martian! Get the water
towers on top of Clayface!
SUPERBOY/MISS MARTIAN
Got it!/Right away!
Miss Martian flies up to the rooftop and lifts the water tower up with her telekinesis, her eyes glowing green.
At the same time Superboy leaps up to the opposite rooftop. He digs his hands into the steel beams of the water tower.
SUPERBOY
<GRUNTS>
Superboy rips the water tower from its mountings on the
rooftop.
Aqualad looks up to his two team mates.
Aqualad looks up to his two team mates.
AQUALAD
Now!
Simultaneously the two heroes toss the water towers at
Clayface where they collide and SHATTER over the monstrous
villain.
When the water hits Clayface.
Aqualad, his tattoos glowing, strikes his water whips out at the cascading waterfall.
The water CRACKLES as it turns into ice.
Clayface struggles as the ice freezes over his clay body.
CLAYFACE
<Grunts and exclamations of pain>
Clayface ends up completely frozen in a giant block of ice, a frozen look of pain on his face.
Students celebrate.
STUDENTS
<Cheers and Adlibbed compliments to
the team.>
When the water hits Clayface.

Clayface ends up completely frozen in a giant block of ice, a frozen look of pain on his face.

Aqualad collapses to his knees, BREATHING DEEPLY.
The frozen Clayface stands in the middle of the campus. There is no movement from the clay monster.
Zatanna flies up from the ground in front of the frozen Clayface. She extends a hand out towards the monster.
ZATANNA (mystical)
Ecafyalc rettahs otni seceip!
The frozen Clayface shatters and falls into multiple blocks of ice on the ground.
Kid Flash runs up to Aqualad, staring at the frozen bits of Clayface.
KID FLASH
That’s one way to keep cool.
Aqualad looks up at Kid Flash, still tired. His expression is one of almost subtle disgust.
Kid Flash shrugs his shoulders.
KID FLASH (CONT’D)
Okay, so it’s not my best material.
DISSOLVE TO:
EXT. QUAD - GOTHAM UNIVERSITY - LATER
KID FLASH (CONT’D)
Okay, so it’s not my best material.
DISSOLVE TO:
EXT. QUAD - GOTHAM UNIVERSITY - LATER
POLICE OFFICERS are carrying frozen chunks of Clayface into
vans and placing them in large coolers.
ROBIN
Don’t leave any pieces behind guys. He
can reconstitute from the smallest bit.
Superboy and Robin observe the police.
SUPERBOY
Why couldn’t we leave with the rest of
the team?
ROBIN
Someone needs to make sure Clayface
doesn’t thaw out before the cops can haul him away.
SUPERBOY
Yeah but why did it have to be US?
ROBIN
Don’t leave any pieces behind guys. He
can reconstitute from the smallest bit.
Superboy and Robin observe the police.
SUPERBOY

Superboy turns away from Robin and cocks his head in a lazy/bored sort of way, rolling his eyes.
SUPERBOY

DOCTOR CRANE (O.S.)
Thank heavens for you young heroes.
Robin and Superboy both turn to see DOCTOR JONATHAN CRANE coming towards them.
The Doctor is a wispy thin middle aged man, wearing a white lab coat and glasses. He has scraggly blonde hair like straw. He enthusiastically grabs Superboy by the hand and shakes it.
There is a yellow glows between Doctor Crane and Superboy’s hands, as if something has been transferred onto Superboy’s skin. (NOTE: IMPORTANT TO SEE GLOW)
DOCTOR CRANE (CONT’D)
I wanted to thank you young heroes for
saving us all from that monster.
Superboy is uncomfortable with the affectionate praise and he quickly pulls his hand away.
Robin walks up to Doctor Crane.
ROBIN
And you are...?
Doctor Crane shakes Robin’s hand as well. He places his other hand on the exposed bit of skin on Robin’s arm.
There is the same subtle bit of yellow glow as with Superboy.

Doctor Jonathan Crane. Professor of
Chemistry and Psychiatry here at the University. That creature was raiding our chemical supplies. That’s how he came to be such an enormous size.
ROBIN
We drew the short straw. Besides we

Robin and Superboy walk away from Doctor Crane.

Superboy wipes the hand he shook Crane with on his pant leg.
ROBIN
The Creeper would be creeped out by
that guy.
CLOSE UP: Robin scratching the forearm where Crane touched it.
INT. CAVE - HAPPY HARBOR - NIGHT
Kid Flash, in civilian clothes, and Zatanna are sitting on
the couch watching TV. The show they are watching is some
BIZARRE TEEN DRAMA. MOODY MUSIC comes from the TV.

I don’t get this show at all.

I know. How is it that battling a
giant mud monster strikes me as more believable than this story?
You should probably keep that stuff

Doctor Crane scowls slightly as he looks at Superboy out of the corner of his eye.

carefully stringing her bow, not paying attention to the TV
or her teammates.
ARTEMIS

Kid Flash looks at Artemis and then at the remote on the table. He briefly reaches his arm out towards the remote but when he realizes to grab he’d have to get up he slinks further down into the couch.
KID FLASH
Eh. Too far.
Wally shrugs his shoulders and continues watching the show.
Artemis shakes her head at Wally and goes back to stringing her bow.
ARTEMIS
(to self)
Kid can run around the world in a minute, can’t move three feet to change a channel.
Superboy and Robin materialize in the transporter.
COMPUTER (V.O.)
Recognize. Robin, B, zero, one.
Recognize. Superboy, B, zero, two.
Kid Flash leans his head back on the couch so he can look at Robin and Superboy.
KID FLASH
How’d the clean up go?

KID FLASH
(mouth full)
Thanks.
There are two cookies left on the plate.
Robin walks up to take one of the cookies. Before he can take his, Superboy grabs both cookies off the plate.
Robin looks at him, annoyed.
ARTEMIS
Thanks Megan.
ZATANNA
Thank you.
Kid Flash takes several.
KID FLASH
(mouth full)
Thanks.
There are two cookies left on the plate.
Robin walks up to take one of the cookies. Before he can take his, Superboy grabs both cookies off the plate.
Robin looks at him, annoyed.
ROBIN
Hey!
Superboy promptly eats one cookie and menacingly holds the other above Robin’s head.
SUPERBOY
(mockingly)
You want it?
Robin reaches up to get the cookie but Superboy is too tall.
MISS MARTIAN
You guys, I can make more.
The rest of the group stares at them in shock as the two teen heroes struggle over the cookie.
Superboy pushes Robin to the ground. As Robin falls to the ground, Superboy walks away.
MISS MARTIAN (CONT’D)
(concerned)
Conner?
Superboy looks over his shoulder. He tosses the cookie at Robin’s head. The cookie crumbles completely when it hits Robin in the face. Robin seethes with anger.
SUPERBOY
Whatever.
Superboy walks away.
Aqualad walks into the room.
AQUALAD
My friends, we have a mission from
Batman. The League is dealing with a serious mission and have asked us to take on more local crimes while they are occupied.
Aqualad sees the stunned looks on the rest of the team’s
faces with Superboy and Robin staring daggers at each other.
AQUALAD (CONT’D)
Did I miss something?
Robin walks past Aqualad. He is brushing crumbs off of his costume and cape.
ROBIN
Let’s just go to work.
INT. BIO-SHIP - NIGHT
Miss Martian pilots the bio-ship. There is an uncomfortable
silence among the team and each member seems to be keeping to
themselves.
Kid Flash turns his chair towards Robin, who is sitting in the seat behind him.
KID FLASH
Dude, are you okay?
Robin refuses to look at Kid Flash, instead just staring out the window of the ship.
ROBIN
(gritty)
I’m fine.
KID FLASH
Are you sure?
Robin’s eyes narrow and he stares down Kid Flash in his most menacing Batman impression.
AQUALAD (CONT’D)
Did I miss something?
Robin walks past Aqualad. He is brushing crumbs off of his costume and cape.
ROBIN
Let’s just go to work.
INT. BIO-SHIP - NIGHT
Miss Martian pilots the bio-ship. There is an uncomfortable
silence among the team and each member seems to be keeping to
themselves.
Kid Flash turns his chair towards Robin, who is sitting in the seat behind him.
KID FLASH
Dude, are you okay?
Robin refuses to look at Kid Flash, instead just staring out the window of the ship.
ROBIN
(gritty)
I’m fine.
KID FLASH
Are you sure?
Robin’s eyes narrow and he stares down Kid Flash in his most menacing Batman impression.
ROBIN
I’m fine.
Kid Flash turns his chair back facing forward, a look of concern on his face.
MISS MARTIAN
We are almost over the target.
AQUALAD
Prepare to deploy. The police are
being overwhelmed by a group of Rogues down there. Our job is to help them out.
EXT. STREET - CENTRAL CITY - NIGHT
TITLE CARD: Central City.
An armored car is tipped on its side in the middle of the street. Standing on top of the car is CAPTAIN BOOMERANG.
POLICE have the armored car surrounded on all sides.
OFFICER #2
Heads down men.
The Captain throws his boomerangs.
The boomerangs EXPLODE as they hit the patrol cars around the cops. Police officers dive for cover away from the explosions and avoid razor sharp boomerangs that WHIZ over their heads..
Civilians run and in terror from the explosions.
CIVILIANS
<screams and adlibbed words of panic
and terror>
Captain Boomerang catches a returning boomerang in his hand. He menacingly points the boomerang at the cowering police officers.
CAPTAIN BOOMERANG
Come on coppers. Step right up. Plenty
of fight for all of ya.
Standing to the side of the armored car is HEAT WAVE, cutting a hole with his heat gun in the sideways roof of the tipped armored car. The Gun is shooting out a fine tipped flame like a blow torch. He gazes up at Boomerang on the top of the car.
HEAT WAVE
Almost through. Keep the cops busy for
a little while longer Digger.
Colorful explosives fall from the sky raining gas and confetti down on the cops and their vehicles.
AQUALAD
Prepare to deploy. The police are
being overwhelmed by a group of Rogues down there. Our job is to help them out.
EXT. STREET - CENTRAL CITY - NIGHT
TITLE CARD: Central City.

Look out!
THE TRICKSTER, bouncing around on top of cars with spring
loaded shoes, is tossing the bombs on the crowd as he
somersaults in the air.
TRICKSTER
Don’t forget about me fellas!
Everybody loves a Trickster!
Captain Boomerang watches Trickster hop around. He shakes his head.
CAPTAIN BOOMERANG
I hate when we bring him along.
Heat Wave finishes cutting through the roof. A metal circle falls to the ground with a CLANG.
HEAT WAVE
All right. Let’s grab the loot and get
out of here.
AQUALAD (O.S.)
Do not move!
Aqualad, Kid Flash and Artemis float down from the Bioship, being held up by Miss Martian’s telekinesis. They slowly float in synch towards the ground.
Trickster looks worried at the oncoming super-heroes.
TRICKSTER
Crackers! It’s Kid Flash-in-the-pan
and the J.V. squad. We can’t even get the big leaguers.
Trickster smiles.
TRICKSTER (CONT’D)
Oh well, better give them some party
favors!
Trickster tosses three bombs up at the descending heroes. Miss Martian telekinetically deflects the bombs upward and harmlessly out of the way where they explode in mid-air. However she loses her concentration and drops the teammates she was carrying.
Aqualad and clumsily fall to the ground.
Kid Flash hits the ground running. He circles the armored car.
Aqualad, Kid Flash and Artemis float down from the Bioship, being held up by Miss Martian’s telekinesis. They slowly float in synch towards the ground.
Trickster looks worried at the oncoming super-heroes.
TRICKSTER
Crackers! It’s Kid Flash-in-the-pan

Trickster tosses three bombs up at the descending heroes. Miss Martian telekinetically deflects the bombs upward and harmlessly out of the way where they explode in mid-air. However she loses her concentration and drops the teammates she was carrying.
Aqualad and clumsily fall to the ground.
Kid Flash hits the ground running. He circles the armored car.
KID FLASH
Boomerang, Heat Wave, Trickster. Looks
like three of mine. Awesome!
Captain Boomerang pulls a boomerang out of his coat and takes aim at Kid Flash.
CAPTAIN BOOMERANG
That’s CAPTAIN Boomerang!
Captain Boomerang throws multiple boomerangs at Kid Flash who deftly avoids them with his super speed.
KID FLASH
Missed. No stuffed animal prize for
you. Maybe you should give up the boomerangs and get a new gag? Like fishing lures.
Captain Boomerang scowls and tosses even more boomerangs at Kid Flash.
EXT. BLOCK AWAY - CENTRAL CITY - NIGHT
Robin lets go of a zipline from the Bioship and acrobatically lands on the ground in a three point crouch. He is a block away from the rest of the fight.
Right behind him Superboy lands, cracking the ground, and the SHOCKWAVE knocks Robin off of his feet.
ROBIN
<Grunts!>
Robin shakes his head and rolls over to face Superboy.
ROBIN (CONT’D)
Hey! Watch where you’re going!
Superboy ignores Robin and heads towards the fight. Half-way through his run, Superboy trips and falls to the ground. He looks to see around his ankles one of Robin’s bolas.
Superboy looks to see Robin who has his hand outstretched like he just threw the bola.
ROBIN (CONT’D)
Don’t walk away when I’m talking to
you.
Superboy RIPS the bola off his legs and furiously throws it towards Robin.
Boomerang, Heat Wave, Trickster. Looks
like three of mine. Awesome!
Captain Boomerang pulls a boomerang out of his coat and takes aim at Kid Flash.

Superboy RIPS the bola off his legs and furiously throws it towards Robin.
Robin dodges out of the way of the bola and takes out his
escrima fighting sticks, getting in a fighting position,
staring aggressively at Superboy.
EXT. STREET - CENTRAL CITY - NIGHT
Heat Wave shoots a thick flame at Aqualad from his heat gun.
Aqualad dodges away from the flame and knocks the gun out of Heat Wave’s hand with a water whip.
Artemis and Captain Boomerang square off.
CAPTAIN BOOMERANG
Come on darling, let’s see what you
got.
Captain Boomerang throws a boomerang at Artemis who at the same time she fires an arrow.
The arrow knocks the boomerang out of the sky and the tip opens up into a net which ensnares Captain Boomerang. The Captain falls to the ground, wrapped by the net.
Artemis stands over Captain Boomerang and kneels down towards him.
ARTEMIS
Don’t call me “darling”.
Kid Flash and Zatanna are flying around a gleeful Trickster who is throwing bombs wildly into the air.
TRICKSTER
<Laughs!> Fun! Fun! <laughs!>
Miss Martian telekinetically lifts Trickster off the ground and holds him in place.
TRICKSTER (CONT’D)
No fair. No fair! I want my toys back!
Kid Flash removes his bag of tricks. He holds the bag up in front of Trickster’s face.
KID FLASH
These are NOT toys!.
Miss Martian telekinetically flings Trickster next to Heat Wave and Captain Boomerang in front of the armored car.
Zatanna casts a spell on the three Rogues.
EXT. STREET - CENTRAL CITY - NIGHT

Aqualad stops in his tracks, along with the rest of the team as they witness Robin and Superboy engaged in battle. The street and buildings around them are cracked and broken.
Robin nimbly avoids Superboy’s attacks, getting in strategic hits with batarangs and/or EXPLOSIVES before Superboy wildly swings at Robin.
Aqualad runs in between the two young heroes. They stop slightly when he gets in between them but the two heroes still want to advance on each other.
AQUALAD (CONT’D)
My friends! What are you doing?
Miss Martian and Kid Flash hold back Superboy while Artemis and Zatanna do the same to Robin. They all desperately fight to hold their teammates in place.
ROBIN
He started it!
SUPERBOY
You should stay out of my way!
ROBIN
Bring it on, clone!
SUPERBOY
Whatever you say, bird boy!
Aqualad pushes both heroes away from each other.
(mystical)
